Smartphone prices in India have been going up for months as memory chips get more expensive, and Oppo has now done it again. The phone launched in July at ₹46,999 for the base model, so it now costs ₹6,000 more than its launch price. The top 12 GB + 256 GB variant is up ₹7,000 in the same period. That is quite a lot to pay for a phone running on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300.

The A6 5G also gets up to ₹4,000 costlier, with its 6 GB + 256 GB model now priced at ₹35,999. The A6x 5G sees smaller hikes of ₹1,000 to ₹2,000, and the A6 goes up by ₹1,000 on both variants. Here are the new prices:

The latest round comes shortly after brands like Vivo, iQOO and Redmi raised their own prices. These increases have been linked to the ongoing memory shortage, as AI companies buy up a large share of the storage and memory chip supply. Anyone planning to buy one of these Oppo phones may want to look for bank offers or wait for festive season sales, which could cancel out part of the hike.
