Summary: Google has released Android Canary 2610 for Pixel phones. The build adds custom icons and theme packs to the Wallpaper & style section and splits Live Effects into 3 separate options. But the noteworthy addition is that the build also suggests HiLight on the Pixel 11 Pro may soon support WhatsApp messages.
Google is rolling out a new Android Canary build for the supported Pixel phones. This update gives the Wallpaper & style section a fresh look with new customization options. While also hinting at a feature many Pixel 11 Pro owners have been waiting for.
What’s New in the Android Canary Update 2610
Android Canary 2610 (build ZP11.260918.007) is available for Pixel phones from the Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 series up to the Pixel 11 lineup, along with the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet. Canary is Google’s earliest testing channel, meant for developers and enthusiasts who want to try new features early.

The biggest change in this build is in the Wallpaper & style section. It now opens with a carousel that offers custom icons and theme packs. The AI wallpaper and Emoji Workshop options appear to have been removed from it. A new Featured button at the top lets users bring the carousel back at any time.
The other change is for Pixel 11 Pro owners. Google added HiLight message alerts in Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6.1. However, but WhatsApp was missing from the list of supported apps. Code found in the new Canary build now mentions WhatsApp right next to Google Messages, which suggests support is coming.
The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro did are omitted from this Canary build as they have received end of life with the latest October Pixel update.
