Summary: OPPO has launched ColorOS 17 globally with a new Fluid Design language, Aurora and Tidal performance engines, and ecosystem upgrades. The Android 17-based update also replaces OxygenOS and Realme UI for OnePlus and Realme phones.
After debuting in China in September and rolling out to devices there from October 8, ColorOS 17 is now available for global markets. The update brings a redesigned interface, meaningful performance improvements, and puts all 3 brands under one software umbrella.
What’s New in ColorOS 17
While ColorOS 17 open beta sign up already began a few days back, Oppo today launched ColorOS 17 globally. It brings Android 17 update to eligible OnePlus, Oppo and Realme devices along with a bunch of changes.
The standout visual change is Fluid Design, OPPO’s new design language. Buttons, sliders, and UI elements stretch and squeeze when pressed, then bounce back to their original shape. This elastic feedback runs across animations and touch interactions throughout the system, giving the interface a more responsive and polished feel.

There’s also the new Aurora Engine, which cuts startup and runtime memory use by 25% and the rendering workload by 30%. Tidal Engine takes over resource scheduling, delivering 55.6% better background app retention, up to 50% faster scrolling in third-party apps, 30% faster mini-program launches, and 15% faster app switching.
On the ecosystem front, ColorOS 17 adds Car+ connectivity with walking-navigation handover between car and phone. There’s also exercise data sharing across smartwatches and tablets, and customizable modular watch faces.

ColorOS 17 also packs several new AI tools, like AI Photo Agent with Edit Advice and Style Match editing tools. And AI Call Guard for detecting scam calls and AI-generated face swaps. On the privacy front, OPPO has added Private Computing Space for on-device encryption and Private Computing Cloud with post-quantum encryption.
ColorOS 17 Availability
ColorOS 17 ships out of the box on the OPPO Find X10 series launching soon in India and the OnePlus 16. In a major shift, there will be no OxygenOS 17 or Realme UI 8. Eligible OnePlus and Realme phones will receive ColorOS 17 directly, marking the end of both brand-specific skins.
The Oppo Find X9 series, the OnePlus 15 and 15R and the Realme GT 8 Pro are one of the first devices to receive ColorOS 17 stable beta starting late October, 2026.
