Apple Confirms October 13 Launch Event, Smart Home Hub and More Expected

Summary: Apple has confirmed that it will be hosting a product launch event on October 13, 2026. Press invites have already sent out for the hands-on event in New York. Based on previous leaks and rumors, it is expected that the company could reveal a new smart home hub, updated Apple TV 4K and new HomePod mini.

Apple has officially confirmed that new products are coming on Monday, October 13. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s SVP of Worldwide Marketing, posted “Welcome home. October 13.” on X, making the date official. The “Welcome home” tagline strongly hints at a smart home-focused launch, just as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (@markgurman) had reported earlier.

What to Expect from Apple’s October 13 Event?

As previously suggested by Mark Gurman, Apple is holding a launch event on October 13, 2026 to announce its range of new products. According to Apple insider, Mark Gurman, the star of the show will be Apple’s first-ever smart home hub.

It will expected to be a HomePod with a roughly 6-inch square display, a camera with a presence sensor that can recognize household members, and support for FaceTime calls, smart home controls and the new Siri AI. Two versions are expected: one that sits on a counter and another that mounts on a wall. It takes design inspiration from the classic iMac G4.

Alongside the home hub, Apple is also expected to launch a refreshed HomePod mini with a faster chip and new colors, and an updated Apple TV 4K with an A19 chip and an upgraded Siri Remote.

Beyond the home lineup, an OLED iPad mini could also debut at the same event. The tablet could come with better water resistance, a faster chip and the first OLED display in any iPad mini. Several new Macs are also expected before the end of the year, though they may arrive later in October.
